Report: Carpenter to return to Patriots

The New England Patriots are about to re-sign linebacker Bobby Carpenter, according to Comcast Sports New England.

The Patriots released the veteran at the end of preseason, but now need help at the linebacker position apparently because of the hamstring injury suffered by rookie Dont'a Hightower in Sunday's win over Buffalo.
