Report: Carr will visit 49ers

Ex No. 1 pick could back up another No. 1 pick Brad Biggs

David Carr will head west and pay a visit to the San Francisco 49ers, according to a report by Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.

The former No. 1 pick by the Houston Texans who flamed out there before becoming a solid backup behind Eli Manning in New York, would be heading to a situation where he could potentially back up Alex Smith, another former No. 1 pick.

The report states that the prevailing feeling was Carr might be headed to another NFC West club, the Arizona Cardinals. That would make sense the Kurt Warner retiring and leaving a gap that would be filled nicely by an experienced veteran/
