Receiver reached deal to do community service and avoid jail time on that charge. Terry McCormick
Chad Johnson, in trouble for his weekend arrest on a domestic assault charge, had a similar charge back in 2000 in Los Angeles, reports TMZ.
The earlier arrest came when Johnson was charged with slapping his girlfriend at the time. He was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but an agreement was reached whereby Johnson would perform 30 days worth of graffiti clean-up, stay 100 yards away from the victim and complete a 12-month counseling program.
Johnson did not complete the 30 days of work in a timely manner and a judge tacked on 15 more days. He completed his sentence in 2002 when he was with the Bengals.
Johnson was charged on Saturday with head-butting his wife, and on Sunday was released by the Miami Dolphins.
