Phoenix broadcaster says team believes it fired him for cause. Terry McCormick
A report has emerged from the Twitter feed of Mike Jurecki, a broadcaster for XTRA-910 in Phoenix that the Kansas City Chiefs may be planning not to play fired head coach Todd Haley the balance of his contract.
Haley was fired by the Chiefs with three games remaining in the regular season, replaced by Romeo Crennel. Haley, who came from the Arizona Cardinals and could wind up back there as an assistant coach, accused the Chiefs of eavesdropping on conversations inside the facility, believing that phones and offices were bugged.
If the Chiefs do refuse to pay, then expect Haley to probably file a grievance to try and recover the balance of his contract, in much the same way Lane Kiffin filed a grievance against the late Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders, when Davis refused to play the balance of his contract after firing Kiffin.

I lose all respect for a team when they try to pull a sleazy stunt like this. If they actually have cause, let's hear it. Otherwise, pay the man. The fact a guy didn't work out, had a difficult personality or was a jerk is not cause to weasel out of your deal.
Thats Pioli for you. From all the stories i've read about the goings on in KC, I imagine Haley and the staff were/are being spied upon. You're not paranoid when they really are out to get you.

Chiefs fans piled on the Raiders over guys like Mike White, Shannahan, and Kiffin over their departures and pending money. Shoe fits other foot, foot stuck in collective mouf. Of course Pioli thought spying was a success facilitator. He learned everything he knew from Bill B. dontcha know.
