St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola threw his helmet against the wall as he went to the locker room Thursday night with an injury.
NFL Network cameras captured the pain and disgust of the veteran shortly after he was lost in the Rams’ 17-3 victory at the Edward Jones Dome. But there is some promising news. Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Amendola will not require surgery for what is a separated SC joint. What is that? Thomas explains it is a separation where the collarbone meets the breastbone. It sounds painful.
According to Thomas, Amendola will be able to return in four to eight weeks, depending on how quickly he heals. The Rams have a bye tucked in the middle there, so Amendola figures to miss three to seven games.
