Steelers await MRI results to see if ACL is also damaged. Terry McCormick
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie guard David DeCastro has a torn MCL, a source told ESPN.com.
DeCastro was scheduled to have an MRI today to determine whether or not the rookie also has a torn ACL. An early diagnosis from doctors did not reveal a torn ACL, though an MRI could possibly show such damage.
If DeCastro has only a torn MCL, then he likely would be out for half the 2012 season. Of course, if his ACL is torn as well, then his rookie season will be over without him playing in a regular season game.
