The Miami Dolphins are on the verge of striking a deal with free agent tight end Dustin Keller, reports Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
UPDATE: Multiple reports says the deal is now completed.
Keller, a five-year veteran, was limited to eight games last year due to injury. He caught 28 passes, but was coming off a career-high 65 receptions in 2011 for the New York Jets.
The Dolphins are serious about upgrading the weapons around Ryan Tannehill, making a big splash with wide receiver Mike Wallace on the first day of free agency. One of the Dolphins' other needs was to find a pass-receiving tight end. It looks as if they may have done just that with Keller.
