Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles want to develop a nice little market for the No. 4 pick in the NFL draft.
Or perhaps they were covering all of their bases.
Heck, maybe it’s a little bit of both. Whatever the case, the Eagles were in Morgantown, W. Va., today to put Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith through a private workout. Pro Football Talk reported the news.
All of the key decision makers were present for the Eagles, starting with owner Jeffrey Lurie and including general manager Howie Roseman and coach Chip Kelly.
The Eagles have brought back quarterback Michael Vick on a renegotiated contract and have Nick Foles, who will be entering his second season, along with a cast of potential backups.
Philadelphia would be an interesting destination for Smith. There is already a restaurant there that does brisk business – Geno’s.
