The Atlanta Falcons found some help for their secondary.
They put the final touches on a contract this afternoon for cornerback Dunta Robinson, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The former first-round draft pick comes over from the Houston Texans. He had an uneven season last year but some of that can be blamed on him missing training camp and most of preseason as he was upset with the franchise tag.
The Falcons made Robinson their top priority in free agency, and it’s a better time to find a solution at cornerback than in August or September. That is when they have gone looking for starters the past two years. They picked up Brian Williams last September after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Williams was re-signed on Thursday. He is recovering from a torn ACL but should be ready for the start of the season.

Foote spent this past season with his hometown Detroit Lions and was arguably their best linebacker. The Lions made the decision to go in a different direction and Foote would be a smart signing by the Redskins, who usually lead with their checkbook, not their head at this time of the year.
