Greg Schiano is working to put his coaching staff together on the fly and he’s got one former NFL head coach in mind.
The new Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach is interested in bringing Butch Davis on board, according to Peter King of SI.com. What role Davis would play is not yet clear. Schiano worked as a defensive coordinator under Davis at the University of Miami for two seasons starting in 1999.
Davis, the former coach of the Cleveland Browns, was most recently ousted as the coach at North Carolina. He has not been in the NFL since his Browns’ gig ended in 2004.
