Officials in Houston have dropped a resisting arrest charge against Adrian Peterson.

The Minnesota Vikings running back texted ESPN’s Josina Anderson to share the news.

They dropped the charges. Thank God,” Peterson wrote, according to the report.

Peterson had been accused of shoving an off-duty police officer at a club on July 7. What made the case interesting is police didn’t have a charge that they were actually arresting Peterson for – making a charge of resisting arrest curious.

Peterson had retained the services of high-profile attorney Rusty Hardin. It was a Class A misdemeanor. A hearing had been scheduled for later this week.
