No deal for left tackle at this point Brad Biggs
Jake Long has been wined and dined, taken a physical and done much more in parts of three days in St. Louis.
Now, he is headed out of town this afternoon, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, without a deal with the Rams.
This doesn’t mean the left tackle will not be going to St. Louis. But the sides have not hammered out a deal yet. What’s next for Long is not known. It’s possible he could return to the Miami Dolphins and it is clear the Rams have not put the kind of deal on the table that will make him jump.
The Rams need to revamp their offensive line. We’ll see what direction this heads. Long is probably looking for more than the Chicago Bears gave Jermon Bushrod, a $35.965 million, five-year contract.
