If Jason Hanson can get a contract done, he will be back with the Detroit Lions for a 22nd season.
Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports Hanson has made up his mind to continue playing provided he can secure a contract.
The Lions had given Hanson time and space to make a decision after the season ended, making it clear they wanted him back. The club has held workouts in recent weeks but only to have a Plan B just in case.
Hanson connected on 32 of 36 field goal attempts last season, one of the finest years of his career. In his career, he made 495 of 601 field goals.
