From Lori Nickel of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Greg JenningsAPJennings is now the second-highest paid receiver in the league.

Fox 6 in Milwaukee is reporting that the Packers and Greg Jennings have finalized a new contract.
UPDATE:

Tim VanVooren of Fox 6, citing an NFL source, reported the deal will make Jennings the league's second-highest paid receiver behind Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals. That means Jennings would make between $10 million and $9.7 million annually.

Fitzgerald signed a four-year, $40-million contract last year.

Tampa Bay's Antonio Bryant is next on the list at $9.6 million from his franchise tag. Seattle's T.J. Houshmandzadeh ($8 million), Dallas' Roy Williams ($7.8 million) and Houston's Andre Johnson ($7.5 million) follow.

WOW. Don't get me wrong. I love Jennings. I think he is underrated. There was no way the Packers could afford to let him get away. He keeps his mouth shut and goes about things the right way.

That being said, second-highest salary for a WR? I thought the whole point of resigning a guy before the last year of his contract is to give the team a bit of a discount. He still drops too many balls and disappeared for a handful of games last year. I can't imagine he would have gotten too much more next year on the open market, and thats assuming there is a new CBA by then to give him FA eligibility.

Good for Greg. He's been nothing but class since coming to Green Bay, and productive to boot. Hopefully he wears green and gold for a long time.

Great effort should get great reward, I was still wanting my team to get Ruvell Martin at the start of free agency, their team is loaded at the position.
