If Jerry Richardson had actually spoken and said something, then perhaps we would know why five days after the conclusion of the season he’s yet to make public his plan with coach Ron Rivera and his staff.
Surely, Richardson knows it isn’t right to leave coaches hanging in the balance. Delaying the search for a new coach will only set the Panthers back too.
According to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Richardson is finally set to meet with Rivera on Saturday. There’s no telling what will come of the meeting but the owner has been conspicuously silent to this point and that cannot be a good sign that he hasn’t lent any support to Rivera, who improved the Panthers by a game to 7-9 this season.
