West Virginia QB draws plenty of interest at pro day. Terry McCormick
The New York Jets were among the teams watching quarterback Geno Smith with interest at Thursday's West Virginia pro day.
Smith is on the Jets' radar, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. The reason for that is probably the simple fact that is a quarterback, and the Jets seem to be collecting signal-callers like some people collect abstract art or baseball cards.
The Jets already, of course, have five quarterbacks under contract - Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Greg McElroy, David Garrard and Matt Simms. There was a report Thursday linking them to Kevin Kolb if/when he is released by Arizona.
So at this rate, the Jets will draft Smith, then they will follow that up by also drafting Matt Barkley, Tyler Bray and Landry Jones in their never-ending search to find a franchise quarterback.
