The New York Jets are poised to deal star cornerback Darrelle Revis rather than offer him a contract extension, says the New York Daily News.

Revis has generally been regarded as the best cover corner in the NFL, but the Jets appear in full-blown rebuild mode with new general manager John Idzik at the controls. Jets owner Woody Johnson, per the report, has no intentions of signing Revis to a new deal, so the Jets will try and move him to another team as free agency opens.

Complicating matters is the fact that Revis tore his ACL in September and is still rehabbing the injury, meaning that any team that trades for him can't be exactly sure what they are getting until Revis recovers, which could still take a few more months.
