Kevin Kolb’s career has taken some bizarre turns since he left Philadelphia in a trade.

Now, it’s entirely possible Kolb will be the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals when those Eagles come to the desert for a meeting in Week 3. But the first order of business is the Cardinals’ trip to New England this Sunday when Kolb will likely replace starter John Skelton.

Skelton was knocked out of the Cardinals’ season-opening victory over the Seattle Seahawks with a sprained ankle, and Pro Football Talk reports he is expected to miss two to four weeks. That puts Kolb in line to start against the Patriots and Eagles and possibly another game or two.

If the Cardinals were not catching tough breaks these days, they wouldn’t be getting any at all. It will be quite a storyline if and when Kolb lines up against the Eagles, who seemingly fleeced the Cardinals in the trade. Stay tuned.
