Team has decision, involving Bulluck, to make Brad Biggs
The Tennessee Titans are scheduled to entertain linebacker Will Witherspoon on a visit Tuesday as they contemplate possibilities at the position.
Witherspoon was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, who traded promising wide receiver Brandon Gibson for him during the season. That decision was based largely on the $5 million base salary Witherspoon has this season. He had signed a $33 million contract with the St. Louis Rams in 2006.
As Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean points out, the Titans have to determine what they want to do. Keith Bulluck is recovering from ACL surgery and he is an unrestricted free agent. The team may have interest in bringing him back.
Per Wyatt, the team tendered a qualifying offer to middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch at the first-round level. David Thornton has a $4 million salary for this season and is recovering from shoulder surgery.
