Panthers QB wastes no time getting in the mix Brad Biggs
Matt Moore was somewhat blown away by the high tender the Carolina Panthers placed on him of first- and third-round picks, a sure sign that the franchise was leaning toward making him its quarterback.
Then Jake Delhomme got sent packing in an emotional and mighty expensive farewell when you consider the money the club is on the hook to pay him.
Now, Moore is in the fold. He wasted little time putting his name to that qualifying offer that was sent his way and will mean $3.043 million for him. Charles Chandler of the Charlotte Observer reports that Moore has signed his contract because he “didn’t want to wait around.” We don’t blame him. Not one bit.

Getting paid by the Saints would allow Delhomme to get an up-close look at the Panthers twice per season, you know, to thank them for the parting gift.
