The NFL notified teams that there will be a special meeting Thursday evening at the combine in Indianapolis to brief clubs on the latest in the developing labor situation that hangs over the league like a black cloud.

Three members per team are to be represented at the meeting, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, including the general manager and head coach.

Per the report, the meeting will explain many issues for this offseason, including what contact is permissible with agents and what to expect in the final week of the expiring CBA.

The owners and players union have been meeting with a mediator in Washington for nearly a week. What progress – if any – is being made is unknown. The NFLPA cancelled a small meeting with select agents that had been scheduled for Thursday, indicating it expected negotiations to carry into that day.
