With the news that Kyle Orton has been waived by the Denver Broncos, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Orton and his agent David Dunn were asking about that possibility when they found out that Chicago's Jay Cutler broke his thumb on Sunday.
The Bears are currently 30th in the waiver order, which means that a team like Denver's AFC West rival Kansas City would have first crack at Orton, if they are inclined to put in a waiver claim.
If Orton winds up back in Chicago, it certainly would be a bit of irony in that he and Cutler were traded for each other when he was shipped to Denver in 2009.
