The Atlanta Falcons are in need of an upgrade for their pass rush after parting ways with John Abraham.
Another veteran player is on their radar as Osi Umenyiora made his first visit as a free agent to the Falcons, according to Mike Garafolo of USA Today.
There are a handful of veteran defensive ends on the market, including Umenyiora, Abraham, Dwight Freeney and Elvis Dumervil. The market hasn’t been great, either, as we’ve seen with what happened for a younger player like Cliff Avril.
Umenyiora, 31, had six sacks last season for the Giants and nine in 2011. That last time he reached double-digits was 2010 when he had 11 ½. He can help someone and after playing in New York, Umenyiora would probably like to land with a contender. The Miami Dolphins have reportedly shown interest in him as well.
