At a time when the Green Bay Packers are just starting to get some of their injured players back, they face the possibility of losing another running back.
The Packers, already without Cedric Benson for the remainder of the season, could wind up placing his replacement James Starks on injured reserve, according to Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee. Starks suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Wilde reports it is not an ACL injury and will likely not involve surgery. Starks, who emerged as a go-to player late in the season two years ago but was sidelined earlier this year with a bad case of turf toe, rushed for 66 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown in the win over the Vikings.
If Starks is down, the Packers will be forced to lean on Alex Green and perhaps considering promoting DuJuan Harris from the practice squad.
