How about this?
After a stay of nearly two years in New York state prison, Plaxico Burress could do the unthinkable and return to the New York Giants.
Why is it unthinkable? Well, the club had pretty much written the Super Bowl XLII star off when he was released from the big house in June. Now, with the market expected to be thin for Burress, especially in the early going of free agency, maybe he has a chance to reunite with the Giants. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports there have been talks.
Burress was an effective possession receiver and red-zone target for Eli Manning before his troubles hit. Keep in mind he hasn’t played in an NFL game in nearly three full years. So expectations for the former star should be tempered this season. But what better way for Burress to make amends than to help out the franchise he once let down?
