Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will undergo surgery on his right knee in coming days.
Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports Griffin will have surgery to repair a torn lateral collateral ligament in the knee. At that time, the extent of damage done to the ACL in the same knee will be assessed, according to the report.
Griffin traveled to Florida to be examined by Dr. James Andrews today after MRI’s on the injury were not completely revealing. It sounds like there is a chance Griffin will ultimately require ACL reconstruction but no one is making that leap at this point. We’ll know more soon.
