Jeff Fisher looks to be the top target for the St. Louis Rams.

But the organization isn’t just waiting to hear from the former Oilers/Titans coach.

The Rams are actively looking at other candidates and to that end the team has requested permission to meet with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams have officially asked the Bengals.

Jay Gruden, the younger brother of ESPN analyst Jon Gruden, has been credited for the work he did in helping transform the Bengals with rookie quarterback Andy Dalton. He’s been a hot name in recent weeks but with the Bengals competing in the wild-card round of he playoffs, Jay Gruden has yet to have the opportunity to interview for a job.

Now, he’ll get a look from the Rams.
