With much less fanfare and self-promoting than Ray Lewis, another Baltimore Ravens veteran will retire following the team's Super Bowl victory.
Matt Birk, the Ravens' center, will announce his retirement, most likely today, per Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun on Twitter.
Birk has spent the past four seasons with the Ravens after playing 11 years for the Minnesota Vikings.
While obviously not garnering the attention that Lewis has, Birk is nonetheless one of the top centers in recent NFL history and no doubt will be missed, giving the Super Bowl champs yet another hole to fill as they prepare to defend their title in 2013.
