Bill Romanowski admitted to using steroids and HGH that he received from controversial BALCO owner Victor Conte in a 60 Minutes interview.

Now, he’s in the mix to be a strength and conditioning coach.

Fox’s Jay Glazer reports that Romanowski has spoken with Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan about a job, an interesting revelation.

Romanowski said that he began taking the illegal drugs in 2001. He retired in 2003 after the NFL informed him that he had failed a drug test. Obviously, many of Romanowski’s best seasons were spent playing with Shanahan in Denver. Romanowski lobbied Broncos owner Pat Bowlen to be the head coach last year before Josh McDaniels was hired.

He lobbied Bolwlen to be "head coach"? No joke?
Why would you take a guy who has never been a strength coach before and hand over your roster to him? A lot of these strength coaches do an apprenticeship before getting the top job as the strength guy. Romanowski seemed to be supplement based as much as anything. Go ahead and give him the job. Could be interesting

Romo is a clown. If Shanahan is doing this for any reason besides helping the guy out with an interview, it's a colossal mistake.

This is the equivalent of Jose Canseco being hired as the strength coach for the A's.
