Matt Leinart and Pete Carroll are not going to be getting together to hum the USC fight song any time soon. Not in Seattle anyway.
The Seahawks will not be making a play for the free-agent quarterback who won a Heisman Trophy playing for Carroll, according to Clark Judge of CBSSports.com.
Judge cites persons close to the team in his report, writing that the Seahawks are confident going with starter Matt Hasselbeck and just one backup, Charlie Whitehurst. The Seahawks paid handsomely to bring Whitehurst over from San Diego and he was uneven in preseason.
So, we’ll stay tuned to see what team wants to see if it can make Leinart into a reclamation project.
