$7 million guaranteed will make it tough Brad Biggs
This cannot come as a surprise, but the Seattle Seahawks would like to part ways with veteran wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh a year after the team spent big on him.
Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reports that the team would like to trade him. Of course wanting to trade him and being able to find a trading partner are two different things here. Houshmandzadeh is due to make $7 million guaranteed this season as part of the $40 million, five-year contract he signed last year.
Houshmandzadeh made 79 receptions last season for 911 yards and three touchdowns a year ago. The issue is no one is going to want to pay that kind of money for that kind of possession-receiver talent. The Minnesota Vikings were in need of help before they traded for Greg Camarillo. You could make the case that they still need help but at that price tag? They would be better off giving Vincent Jackson the contract he is seeking.
So, expect the Seahawks to have to live with Houshmandzadeh and his contract this season.

Pull a Bengals and outright cut him?
Nah, he still has talent and no one else is moving up to take his place.
Still, if the guy isn't wanted and if.... when the season goes into the tank, cutting their losses now might be better than waiting until next year.
