49ers wide receiver cooperating with police Brad Biggs
Allegations of sexual assault against San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree “do not appear to be holding up,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
That’s good news for Crabtree with an appearance in Super Bowl XLVII quickly approaching. Crabtree has cooperated with investigators since a woman accused him of assaulting her in a downtown hotel hours after the 49ers advanced with a divisional round playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 12.
Crabtree has been accused by one of three women that joined him in a party in a room at the W Hotel, according to the report. The other two women have denied Crabtree assaulted anyone, a police source told the Chronicle. Police also don’t have any physical evidence against Crabtree, the report indicates. The woman alleging the attack went to authorities four days after the fact.
Police are not commenting on the case other than to say they hope it is wrapped up within the next 10 days. That would be just before the Super Bowl.
