Report: Steelers close door on Harrison return

When the Pittsburgh Steelers cut linebacker James Harrison on March 9, there was a glimmer of hope that the team might re-sign the veteran to a lesser deal.

Now, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says that ship has sailed and that Harrison's chances of returning to the Steelers are gone.

Bill Parise, Harrison's agent, said he has a "couple" of things working with other NFL teams for Harrison, while the Steelers are moving on and apparently wanting to get younger at the position. Over the weekend, the club informed Harrison that he would not be a part of their plans for 2013.
