Pittsburgh seeking help following injuries to Roethlisberger, Leftwich. Terry McCormick
Former Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Mike Kafka will work out for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday, according to a report on ESPN's halftime show from Monday night.
Kafka was a bit of a surprise cut this summer by the Eagles, who released him in favor of rookie Nick Foles as Michael Vick's backup.
The Steelers are in need of a quarterback as they now turn to third-stringer and long-time backup Charlie Batch to start this week against Cleveland. Ben Roethlisberger suffered a fractured rib and separated shoulder against Kansas City.
Then, Byron Leftwich broke two ribs in Sunday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, leaving Batch as the Steelers only healthy QB.
UPDATE: CBSSports reports that former Patriots backup Brian Hoyer will also work out for the Steelers Tuesday.
