Steve Keim has long been rumored to be the next general manager of the Arizona Cardinals and he’s currently in negotiations with the team to take the position.
Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports Keim, the club’s vice president of player personnel, is in talks with the team about signing a contract to replace Rod Graves and assume control of football operations.
Keim is also a finalist for the GM job in Jacksonville. He’s been credited with helping with some solid drafts in Arizona, ones that have produced some fine young defensive talent for the club. If Keim is officially promoted, he can then guide the team down the path of finding the next coach.
Some believe Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley could be a top choice if Keim gets the job. The Cardinals have requested permission to speak with Haley but nothing has happened yet. After what happened to Haley in Kansas City, he probably wants to have a clear understanding of who will be a part of the management team before exploring a job further.
