Tim Hightower is finally getting around to visiting the New York Giants.
The veteran running back was supposed to visit the team about a month ago but that never came to pass. It’s happening today, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, and he hints there is a possibility Hightower could get a tryout during the team’s rookie minicamp in nine days.
Hightower has been out since October 2011 when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. The Washington Redskins released him during preseason last summer and he subsequently underwent another surgery on the same knee, according to the report.
Hightower has been productive during stints in Arizona and Washington but has struggled remaining on the field. He’d be a low-cost investment if the Giants like what they see.
