Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield returned to the practice field this week with his injured right foot, but he will not suit up on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Winfield is out for the NFC North meeting with the Detroit Lions at the Metrodome. Winfield said he is hopeful of returning next week when the Vikings host Seattle. The Vikings are coming off their bye week.
It’s a smart decision for the Vikings. Yes, Winfield would come in handy against Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, but it’s wiser to err on the side of caution here and bring back Winfield when he’s fully ready with an eye toward keeping him on the field for the stretch run.

Can't coach, can't win games & can't tell which players should be on the team to give them the best chance to win games. I don't think they are n the right mindset to play football.
