Report: Vikings, Falcons, Lions contacted Brandon Flowers

Cut by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, veteran cornerback Brandon Flowers isn't expected to be out of a job for long.

Flowers has already been contacted by the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions, according to Warpaint Illustrated of Scout.com.

Flowers started 87 of the 88 games he appeared in for the Chiefs over the past six seasons. The former second-round draft pick ecorded 421 tackles, 17 interceptions, two sacks and four forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries during that span.

Flowers struggled covering receivers out of the slot last year.

“We appreciate Brandon’s contributions to the team over the last six seasons,” Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said in a statement on Friday.. “It’s in the best interest of the club and the player to part ways at this time. We wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career.”
