Patriots pass on veteran tight end due to knee problem. Terry McCormick
Kellen Winslow won't be joining the New England Patriots because he failed his physical, says Mary Paoletti of Comcast Sports New England.
The Patriots instead signed Michael Hoomanawanui, who was in camp with the St. Louis Rams. According to Paoletti, Visanthe Shiancoe, who went on injured reserve to make room on the roster for Hoomanawanui, was given the recall designation.
Winslow was released by Seattle and apparently the condition of his knee did not satisfy the Patriots.
