Jets cornerback sat out vs. Steelers with concussion. Terry McCormick
New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis got the go-ahead on Thursday to play this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Revis missed last Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh due to a concussion suffered in the Jets' opening day win against Buffalo.
“I’m playing Sunday,” Revis said via the New York Daily News. “Doctors cleared me, so I’ll be playing Sunday. ... I can bang my head on a wall if I want to."
That last part might not be advisable, but nonetheless, the Jets are thrilled to have their star cornerback back in action.
“I think you feel good when you have the best player on the field,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said. “That can't hurt you. They got some great players over there in Miami . . . but there’s only one Darrelle Revis. I know I feel great about it. It’s hard not to smile if he’s out there.”
