Michael Vick's assertion that Geno Smith is the Jets' starting quarterback may not be as accurate as he led on.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jets coach Rex Ryan said that both Vick and second-year quarterback Geno Smith will be competing for that starting spot.
“There is competition," Ryan said. "No doubt,"
It could be a smokescreen, with Ryan wanting Smith to push himself more with Vick on the roster. Then again, those educated in the game of football seem to agree that at this stage in their careers, Vick is the better quarterback.
And plenty of folks seem to think Vick has a great job of being the Jets' starting quarterback in Week 1.
