From NYDailyNews.com:
In an attempt to crack down on penalties, Rex Ryan is pulling a page from the Eric Mangini book on discipline.
If a player commits a penalty in practice, he gets pulled out of the team drill and is required to run a sprint (offensive players) or perform up-downs (defensive players).
The Jets have committed 44 penalties, fourth-most in the league. RT Damien Woody called it a "startling" number, and Ryan is fed up.
"We're doing everything we can to make sure the focus is there," Ryan said.
The low point came in last week's loss to the Bills, when the Jets had six penalties in overtime.
