Jets coach appears to hedge on struggling QB beyond game vs. Colts. Terry McCormick
Mark Sanchez remains the New York Jets' starting quarterback, according to Rex Ryan.
However, according to ESPNNewYork, Ryan may be avoiding a long-term commitment to Sanchez, saying he is the starter for "this week" as the Jets get ready to face the Indianapolis Colts.
"I'm telling you right now, he's our starting quarterback this week," Ryan said Wednesday.
Ryan was then asked about the time stamp he seemingly placed on Sanchez's hold on the job and replied, "What do you want me to say? He's our starter. He's our starter this week."
Sanchez has been struggling for most of the season, and the popularity of backup Tim Tebow is undeniable, not to mention the spark many believe he could give the sagging Jets.
