The Atlanta Falcons basically swapped out released defensive end John Abraham with Osi Umenyiora when he was signed.
Now, they could make a move to upgrade their defensive line with a veteran likely interested in another shot at a Super Bowl.
John Manasso of Fox Sports South reports the Falcons are in contract talks with Richard Seymour, a four-time Pro Bowl performer. Seymour won three Super Bowls as a member of the New England Patriots but spent the last four seasons with the Oakland Raiders.
It would be a good match because Seymour, 33, played at Georgia and is training in the Atlanta area. Seymour has 57 ½ career sacks and if he’s got a little gas in the tank he could definitely give the Falcons a boost on the interior of the line.
