Rob Gronkowski considered unlikely for opener

The New England Patriots are considered unlikely to have star tight end Rob Gronkowski available for the season opener, according to ESPN.

Gronkowski underwent surgeries on his back and forearm this offseason.

The Patriots open the season against the Buffalo Bills.

Gronkowski could start the season on the physically unable to perform list possibly.

The Patriots have a decision to make on his status in the next few weeks.
