Atlanta has need for pass-rushing help Brad Biggs
Roddy White has made the first recruiting pitch.
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver recognizes the club’s need for pass rush help. And he has recognized a veteran pass rusher on the open market.
“I would love to see Dwight Freeney in a falcon uniform next year I hope that's not tampering,” White wrote on his Twitter account.
The Falcons have an aging defensive end in John Abraham, a 34-year-old who had 10 sacks last season. Freeney, 33, had five sacks this past season, his 11th with the Colts. He’s had only 13 ½ sacks in the last two seasons. Freeney has 107 ½ in his career and Abraham has 122.
Freeney might help for one season. But what the Falcons really need is an infusion of youth, speed and talent on the defensive line.
