The NFL's 16th annual Rookie Symposium will begin next week in Aurora, Ohio, with AFC rookies going through the orientation from June 23-26, followed by the NFC rookies on June 26-29.
“We believe in our peer-to-peer model that the more information these young men have on how those before them handled success, the better prepared they will be to meet expectations on and off the field,” said NFL Senior Vice President of Player Engagement Troy Vincent, a five-time Pro Bowl pick in his 15-year NFL career. “Through our speakers there is a story to be told, a lesson to be learned, a teachable moment, a message of success in conveying our number one objective which is to provide our rookies the tools to succeed during their NFL playing experience and beyond.”
Among the scheduled speakers to talk to the Draft Class of 2013 include active players Vernon Davis, Delanie Walker and Adam "Pacman" Jones and retired players LaVar Arrington, Brian Dawkins, Luther Elliss, Antonio Freeman, Mike Haynes, Desmond Howard, Terry "Tank" Johnson, Dhani Jones, Patrick Kerney, Chad Pennington and Aeneas Williams.
