The Houston Texans have signed the suddenly in-demand Stanford Routt after working him out on Tuesday, per the Houston Chronicle.
The Texans are thin at cornerback, having Brice McCain, Jonathan Joseph and Alan Ball all out with injuries.
Routt was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs in the off-season, but was released a few weeks ago and cleared waivers.
Routt had planned to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers later today, but when the tryout with the Texans ended with the club wanting to sign him, he canceled that flight to stay in Houston.
