JaMarcus Russell, the top pick in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders, remains on the comeback trail.

Now, per, Russell has shed approximately 50 pounds and has his weight down to 265 pounds.

According to the report, there is more than one team that has "significant" interest in Russell, though no team has yet been outed as having interest in Russell, whose problems in Oakland not only included his ballooning weight but also his poor work ethic.

Russell's best shot of getting a second chance in the NFL is probably to take a minimum deal with no signing bonus money and try to make his way back by proving he is a changed man.

As fellow former first-rounders Vince Young and Tim Tebow are finding out, once you're on the outside looking in in the NFL, it can be very difficult sometimes to find someone willing to give you another chance.
