Rex Ryan said he is excited about the post-bye chances for his 3-5 New York Jets, according to the New York Daily News.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am,” Ryan said on Monday. “I know we’re not where we want to be. We’re not even close. We’re not sniffing the playoffs. We’re not sniffing anything right now. But I want to get there. I’m excited about the prospects in front of us.”
Ryan promised some changes from suggestions made by assistant coaches, but apparently replacing Mark Sanchez with Tim Tebow at quarterback is not one of those changes, according to the coach.
“We got a bunch of suggestions. I hope they’re good,” Ryan said. “But we’re certainly looking at them. It’s kind of a tough thing, because you have to put all your focus on this one thing, but we have to open for different suggestions and things. We definitely have taken them in. We will be doing some different things. I don’t want to get into the specifics of it… If there’s an advantage to be gained, then I want to gain that advantage without letting our opponent know. I’m excited about trying to implement some of these things.”
